Based in Plymouth our client is currently looking to recruit Scrub Nurses. This is an exciting job opportunity to join a leading independent provider of services, becoming part of a highly trained team using the latest equipment to the highest standard on behalf of the NHS.
As Scrub Nurse you will directly contribute to the day to day running of the operating theatre suite, ensuring the provision of the highest standards of care and services in keeping with the philosophies of the organisation.
Skills
Candidates should be a Registered General Nurse and have knowledge of, and understand the correct “Scrubbing” Procedures regarding:
-Anatomy and operative procedures done in the theatre and the instruments and equipment needed
-Hand washing and gowning procedure.
-Preparing the theatre adequately for specific surgeon and list complying to the Surgeon’s preferences where possible.
-Counting, handling and disposing procedure for swabs, instruments and sharps.
-The handover of patients to the recover room personnel.
